Homeward Bound

Slept well, slept warm, and slept peaceful, listening to waves breaking below.

We're ready. Time for a big breakfast, and a monstrously long trip home. I hope my jet lag is as minimal when I get home as it was arriving.

My Kingdom for Stable Air

"Chicken Little" is a stinker of a movie. Compared to "Toy Story," "The Incredibles," or even "Ice Age," it's a disappointment. I have won two chess games against the computer, so I feel pretty smug about that.

We flew from Sydney to Brisbane, de-planed, then took off for Los Angeles. Geez, I thought I'd have to use the airsick bag. There's so much turbulence, and it's almost constant! The pilot was trying to power up and over it quickly, but we kept bouncing around. Bleah

25-Mar, 0845, Los Angeles International Airport

Home Trash Home

We have almost four hours to wait before we fly to Seattle. I haven't slept at all yet, which is a mystery. Heaven knows I'm tired! Even the landing at LAX was bumpy. Overall that was probably my worst flight ever, turbulence-wise.

Monique slept some, and again, Qantas is great. Good food, treats, and incredibly nice staff. I say that by way of contrast, for we're back in the U.S. Yes they're renovating parts of the airport, but ya know what? It's a hole. It's dirty, the security people are rude, I sense an attitude of "I know you know I'm not a cop, so I'm gonna be extra tough and mean to you." It's probably just my lack of sleep.

No, sleepy or not, this place is a pit and these people are rude.

Anyway, now I'm ready to get home.
